This is something like a novice attempt at curating! What follows are a few favorites from the online gallery of African photography at africultures.com. In its fourth year, the site exhibits a growing collection of works regardless of genre but remarkably and refreshingly different and provocative. It is co-curated by one of the editors of Filigranes, a French publisher of some 300+ titles on modern photography and criticism, including 4 editions of Afriphoto, a compendium of work by African photographers on the continent and beyond.
