About Me
- Carly Stewart
- Senegal
- Salaam malekum! I kept this blog going while I was working in Senegal with a non-governmental development organization. Not sure what direction to take this in, now that I'm home and trying to negotiate the next step from here ... Anyways, enjoy my blog, named after the most savory, unofficial national dish of Senegal, the apotheosis of West African cuisine (when it's done well), as well as a dance. Let the earth humble you Child, the ocean renew you, love warm you, wisdom embolden you. Let the wind remind you of your physicality, music of your past. Let your orishas guard you, let doves and other auspicious winged creatures who swing down sweetly and perch on your shoulders stay, long as they like.
